Levings “eh-bah-dah-gish”, Chairman Text Box: FY 2009 Month #4 Text Box: The Three Affiliated Tribes; the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara were cordially invited to attend the Presidential Inauguration of President Elect Barack Obama during the Week of January 19, 2009 at Washington, DC. Such activities included receptions and concerts in the celebration of the November 2008 General Election of Democratic Nominee “Candidate Barack Obama” Senator from Illinois whom was duly elected to the 44th President of the United States of America. The Government to Government Invitation to attend such Historical Inauguration of the first African American President in the History of the United States of America. The Three Affiliated Tribes Business Council were accompanied by Edwin Benson; the last remaining fluent speaking Mandan Tribal Elder to witness the Historical event. The Tribal Delegation also included the “Elect Obama Team” as well.
