Text Box: Palm Springs, CA—The National Congress Of American Indians 66th Annual Convention held the Area Vice President Election and the Executive Board Elections were duly sworn in for the next two calendar years for the 2009-11 term of office. The Election Results were the Election of President Keel, First Vice President—Mahalo, Secretary Theresa Two Bulls and Treasurer Ron Allen. The Area Vice President was vacated by Ron His Horse Is Thunder; thereby creating a need to Elect a Successor Great Plains Vice President representing the states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska and Iowa. The Great Plains Tribes duly Elected Marcus D. Levings, Chairman of the Three Affiliated Tribes; Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara by Unanimous Consent to the Post of Area Vice President of the Great Plains. The Request for the continued representation of the Large Land Based Tribes was also a key issue for the Great Plains; in the interest of continuing the communication to President Obama and Congress of the Needs of the Largest Land Based Owners in Indian Country and the Work will continue to be done! “I will do the Best I Can to Increase the Voice of The Three Affiliated Tribes!”
