Help With Overcoming Grief

Submitted by E. Packineau

“It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” we hear the Christmas melody ringing throughout stores and public building.  The heaviness we feel doesn’t allow us to experience the joy and celebration of the season that is around us.  We want to feel some sense of normalcy just to connect with our families again, but we are reminded of the broken circle and can’t begin to comprehend how to mend the hoop in our lives.

Many people learn to self medicate, whether through alcohol, drugs or prescription drug, it’s a false way coping with emotion pain, which ultimately leads to more problems.  So how do we overcome our grief?  We must learn to face our battles with strength and courage.  What does strength and courage have to do with grief?  It’s the emotional scars of our past that have not been healed properly.  We have not learned to embrace the losses in our life and move forward.

Think about our ancestors and the great heritage and legacy they left us with.  The ceremonies they performed that led to the Creator seeking His wisdom, guidance and strength.  They were able to tap into the “Spirit World” and communicate with those who passed into the Spirit World.

Jesus Christ took Peter, James, and John up high on a hill and the Bible says in the book of Matthew 17:3 “And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him (Jesus).  Jesus was showing His disciples the “Open Heaven” and communicating with those who crossed over.

It is my firm belief that the Creator is trying to bring an “Open Heaven” over those who are lost in sorrow and grief.  He desires to open the heavens and let you experience a taste of Heaven, to heal your brokenness and mend the sacred circle.

Isaiah 61:1  The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me.”  Because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken hearted.  To proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.

I would like to personally invite you and all Clergy and Spiritual Leaders to participate in a PRAYER SERVICE FOR THOSE IN GRIEF AND SORROW, SUNDAY DECEMBER 20TH @ 3PM IN THE TRIBAL CHAMBERS.  KMHA will be broadcasting live all prayers to help heal and restore our Nation and People.

God Bless and may you continue your journey of healing and restoration.
