Washington – Senators Byron Dorgan and Kent Conrad and Congressman Earl Pomeroy announced today that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded $1,218,238 in federal funding to the Three Affiliated Tribes to help combat diabetes on the Fort Berthold Reservation.

The grant will be used for a major diabetes prevention and treatment project.

“This grant is a very significant investment in the health of Three Affiliated Tribes members now and in the future,” the delegation said in a joint statement. “Projects like this take important steps in helping to address the serious diabetes problems on North Dakota reservations and others throughout the nation.”
