STANLEY TO RECEIVE $385,000 GRANT TO ASSIST WITH HOUSING NEEDS

BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. John Hoeven today gave preliminary approval for a $385,000 Community Development Block Grant to help the City of Stanley meet the increased demand for housing as a result of oil development activity in the region. Final approval is pending contingent financing for the project.

Lutheran Social Services plans to acquire the former Stanley community hospital building and convert it into 16 units of rental housing. The units will be designed to accommodate various family sizes and types. More than half of them will be available to low and moderate income families. The site is already in a residential neighborhood and will convert an existing building into a needed and useful asset for the community.
