APPLIANCE REBATES STILL AVAILABLE

BISMARCK, ND – About 150 of the 3,800 appliance rebate applications are still available for North Dakotans who want to upgrade to a more energy efficient refrigerator.

The North Dakota Energy Star Appliance Rebate program provides a $150 incentive for consumers to replace and retire inefficient refrigerators. The program is funded by a $615,000 grant from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which the North Dakota Department of Commerce is administering.

All North Dakota residents are eligible for this program. Only full-sized (7.75 cubic feet or greater) Energy Star refrigerators purchased on or after the start of the program on April 6 qualify for the rebate. Applicants must sign up for an appliance rebate program form at www.NDEnergyStarRebate.com and will have 90 days from enrolling to complete and submit the form with proof of purchase of a qualified Energy Star refrigerator and proof of disposal of an old refrigerator.

A list of allowed Energy Star refrigerators is available on the website. Applicants should expect to receive their debit cards within 6 to 8 weeks of submitting the application.

Consumers can go to the website or call 1-877-402-0062 for more information.
