MANDAREE
PUBLIC SCHOOL AWARDED $900,000 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
OF A NEW SCHOOL
The Three Affiliated Tribes approved the funding
of $900,000 for the Construction of a New School
to be constructed in Mandaree, North Dakota. Pursuant
Tribal Business Council Resolution #02-10-MWJR
which states in part:
"WHEREAS, The Mandaree School was constructed
in 1954 and has since underwent many repairs and
maintenance upgrades to remain in compliance with
federal and state standards and facility requirements
in order to remain in safe, and sanitary conditions
to be conducive to a learning environment; and…
WHEREAS, The Tribal Business Council has previously
authorized the Mandaree Public School $300,000.00
through resolution #01-23-MWJR and #01-278-MWJR
to assist in the Construction of the proposed
new addition; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Tribal
Business Council of the Three Affiliated Tribes
hereby authorize and approves to assist the Mandaree
Public School District in the amount of $45,000.00
per fiscal year until the financial debt is paid
in full, and that allocations be paid the fiscal
year that construction of the new addition begins,
25% commitment not to exceed $45,000.00 per
fiscal year.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the above allocations
be paid to the creditor for the school addition,
and not the Mandaree Public School general fund…"

BE AN INVITATION TO BID
The
Tribal Business Council approved the Four Bears
Casino & Lodge proposal for the Renovation
Project for the 2002 Construction Season to be
an Invitation to Bid for a General Contractor.
The project will include:
- New
Kitchen Addition,
- New
Gaming Addition
- Office
Remodeling
- Banquet/Meeting
Room/Dining Remodeling
- Casino
Remodeling/Arcade, Gift Shop Remodeling
CO-GENERAL
MANAGERS APPROVED TO RECEIVE 1ST QUARTER INCENTIVES
The
Tribal Business Council approved the Incentives
of the 1st Quarter of the FY2002 for meeting the
goals as established by the Tribal Business Council.

BUSINESS COUNCIL SUPPORTS THE FEDERAL LAWSUIT COBELL
v. NORTON
Tribal
Council Supports Cobell v. Norton, Pursuant to Resolution
#02-12-MWJR, which states in part:
"WHEREAS, It is well documented that the U.S. Department
of Interior has grossly mismanaged the administration
of trust funds and trust resources belonging to
Indian tribes and individual Indians, including
the Three Affiliated Tribes, as also indicated by
the ongoing case Cobell,
et al. v. Norton,
now pending in Federal District Court for the District
of Columbia on behalf of individuals holding funds
in Individual Indian Money (IIM) accounts; and;
WHEREAS, That the Three Affiliated Tribal Business
Council, hereby authorizes litigation to be commenced
on its behalf as outlined above early in 2002, prior
to six (6) years from the date of delivery of the
Arthur Anderson reconciliation reports to the Tribe,
and that such lawsuit allege, among other things,
mismanagement by the United States Government of
both the trust funds and assets belonging to the
Three Affiliated Tribes;…"
