Twin Buttes Custom Homes applies for 8(a) Status under the Small Business Administration
The Tribal Business Council approved Resolution #01-153-MWJR, which read in part:
"...The Tribal Business Council has chartered an independent, Tribally owned business entitled Twin Buttes Custom Homes, Inc. (TBCH), whose primary business is constructing modular residential, public and commercial buildings; and
"...With its experience, TBCH has now become eligible to bid on various sole-source contracts that are set aside for minority contractors, including businesses owned by Indian Tribes, under the program for minority businesses administered by the Small Business Administration (SBA) know as the "Section 8(a)" program; and.
MIS Department approved to purchase Scanning Equipment and Software for the Preserving the Tribal Business Council Documents.
"...The Tribal Business Council has developed a Management Information Systems Department within the Three Affiliated Tribes; and
"...The Tribal Business Council has recognized a need to acquire the equipment and supplies to assist the MIS in completing their duties and responsibilities; and
"...The Secretary of the Tribal Business Council formally requested that MIS Department to assist in the duty in protecting and preserving the official documents of the Three Affiliated Tribes, namely the minutes and tribal resolutions; and
"...That the Tribal Business Council does hereby approve the purchase of the necessary equipment and material in the amount of $20,975.00 be appropriated from Tribal General Fund revenue, to be reimbursed from Grants submitted by the CED's Department.
Independence Program to apply for the 1% Loan through Rural Development Program
The Tribal Business Council formally approved of Tribal Business Council Resolution #01-155-MWJR, wherein the Independence Program qualifies as an "intermediary" to apply to Rural Development's Rural Business-Cooperative Service Intermediary Relending Program 1% loan for $1,000,000 for the Independence Programs revolving loan pool fund. Tribe to secure Bond Financing to build new Residential housing Units within the Reservation
The Tribal Business Council formally approved Resolution #01-163-MWJR which states in part:
"...The Tribal Business Council recognizes that alternative financing efforts may be the most effective way to address the severe housing shortage on the Reservation, that cannot be adequately remedied with current level of direct federal funding."
