Regular Meeting held on July 19, 2001--Action

Enrollment of the Three Affiliated Tribes, Tribal Council Approves 55 Applications
Tribal Business Council approves the 55 applications for enrollment to the Three Affiliated Tribes pursuant to Tribal Business Council Resolution #01-169-MWJR. As stated in part; "Whereas, According to the Article II, Sec. I: Membership: The Membership of the Three Affiliated Tribes shall consist of:

  1. All persons whose names appear on the membership of the Tribe as of October 2, 1974.
  2. Any person born before the effective date of the amendment and to any member of the Tribe who was resident of the reservation at the time of birth of said person.
  3. All persons of at least 1/4 degree Indian Blood of a federally recognized tribe, provided that at least 1/8 be of the Hidatsa, Mandan, or Arikara Tribe…."
Tribal Business Council Amends the Committee Structure to include all TBC Members.
The Tribal Business Council Approved Tribal Business Council Resolution #01-177-MWJR which amends previous Resolution #01-13-MWJR to include the remaining councilman not appointed on a committee, be designated as alternates in absence of appointed committee members. As the duties and responsibilities make it sometimes difficult to attain a quorum of three members for the respective committee meetings of the Natural Resources, Judicial and Health and Human Resources that this amendment was necessary.
In the best interest of the Tribe that this was done in order to complete business in the absence of the appointed committee members.
Tribe Renews the Legal Contract with Mr. Christopher Quale for the Legal Department of the Three Affiliated Tribes
The Tribal Business Council formally approved the renewal of the contract for legal services from Mr. Christopher Quale for a four year term. Mr. Quale is the Lead Attorney for the Legal Department of the Three Affiliated Tribes.
Tribe and the Fort Berthold Housing Requests that the Department of Housing and Urban Development  respond to housing issues.
The Tribal Business Council of the Three Affiliated Tribes duly passed Tribal Business Council Resolution #01-179-MWJR in which states in part; "Whereas, The Three Affiliated Tribes Tribal Business Council has reviewed the Tribal Caucus Resolution and the attached HUD Consultation Tribal Caucus Issue Paper submitted by tribal representatives to HUD on July 11, 2001, in St. Paul, Minnesota, at the HUD 8th Native American Ownership Summit; and
"Therefore, now be it resolved, That the Three Affiliated Tribes Tribal Business Council hereby petitions HUD to-
