As
continued- Tribe and Fort Berthold Housing Request
that the Department of Housing and Urban Development
respond to housing issues.
-immediately
begin to respond to Tribes and their tribal housing
issues:
- in a manner
commensurate with their status as sovereign
nations,
- In compliance
with the presidential mandate of Executive Order
13175, and,
- Pursuant to
the intentions of the Native American Housing
Assistance and Self-Determination Act (NAHASDA);
and,"
"Be it further and
finally resolved, That the Three Affiliated Tribes
specifically requests a formal written response
to Tribes regarding the issues and concerns raised
within the Tribal Caucus Resolution and Issue Paper
within thirty (30) days of July 11, 2001, to enable
Tribes to take expedient action to enact any remedies
they may deem necessary to ensure that Native American
housing concerns will be addressed properly and
without undue delay."
Fort Berthold
Housing Authority to begin issuing stipends for
Board Meetings.
The Tribal
Business Council approved Resolution #01-180-MWJR
which states in part;
"Whereas, In keeping with other tribally established
Boards, the Board wishes to be compensated at a
fair rate for meeting attendance, and the FBHA has
researched stipends paid by other tribal organizations
and finds that $100 per meeting is average; and,
Whereas, The board has agree that $100 per meeting
is adequate compensation;
Now Therefore be it resolved, that the Tribal Business
Council agrees to revise the above quoted Section
IV., of Ordinance 1-62 to read, "The
commissioners shall received compensation for their
services at a rate of $100 per meeting and shall
be entitled to compensation for expenses; including
traveling expenses incurred in the discharge of
their duties."
...That
the revision shall become effective October 1, 2000,
which is the start date of the Fort Berthold Housing
Authority's Fiscal Year 2001."
Tribal Business
Council votes to relocate the Solid Waste Landfill
to a more rural site out of the Four Bears Segment.
Upon much
debate about the issues of the Solid Waste Landfill
which is filled to capacity, the Tribal Business
Council voted to relocate the Landfill to a more
rural area and continue on with the same level of
employment positions and lastly to reclaim the landfill
site back to natural grass.
Tribal Business
Council approves a Contract for the Deliver of Gravel
to the Home Access Roads and Parking Pads for the
Four Bears Segment
The Tribal
Business Approved a Tribal Business Council Resolution
#01-181-MWJR, to contract with Mr. Sonny Black
Feather to haul gravel from the Four Bears Gravel
Pit to the home access roads of the Four Bears segment
and the parking pads within the Drags wolf village
and the Bakersfield subdivisions. This work
should be done before the snow flies this fall.
