Fort Berthold
Housing Authority to receive $94,200 to assist
in the re-establishing the former Village Lagoon
system for 36 Unit Apartments.
The Tribal
Business Council passed Tribal Council Resolution
#01-221-MWJR which was a request from the
Fort Berthold Housing Authority to assist in the
funding of the re-establishment of the Village
Lagoon System. Which States as in part:
"Whereas, The Fort Berthold Housing Authority
cannot bring its 36-Unit project on line without
provision of adequate wastewater disposal; and
Whereas, It is therefore incumbent upon the Authority
to rebuild an abandoned lagoon in the Four Bears
to temporarily provide adequate wastewater disposal
so that the 36-Unit Project expected to be completed
in November 2001 can come on-line in a timely
manner; and
Whereas, The Three Affiliated Tribes previously
granted by Tribal Resolution an annual allocation
to the Fort Berthold Housing Authority in the
amount of $750,000 of which $300,000 has been
received this fiscal year; and,
Now therefore be it resolved, That the Three Affiliated
Tribes Tribal Business Council hereby approves
reimbursement to the Fort Berthold Housing Authority
pursuant to its request for $94,200 which constitutes
the total of the Lagoon Project Year 1 costs;…"
I would like to Commend and Thank Barb Baker,
Director, Orville Fox, Project Manager and the
Housing Board of Directors for their work , that
they have put into getting the 36 Unit Apartment
Complex completed and put into service.
Twin Buttes
Custom Homes Board of Directors approve the Purchase
of Display Model Home for the Four Feathers Head
Start Center
The Twin
Buttes Custom Homes Board of Directors has sold
the Display Home located east of the Tribal Building
to the Tribal Head Start Program. It was approved
for the purchase amount of $51,000 and will be
set up as a Head Start Center adjacent to the
old Four Bears Community Center which now is occupied
by Four Feathers Head Start.
The Display home will be setup and modified to
be in compliance with the Head Start guidelines.
However, the main issue of concern is that the
present location that the Four Feathers Center
is located was declared condemned by I.H.S. in
years past.
