FOUR BEARS REPRESENTATIVE OF THE TRIBAL BUSINESS COUNCIL

"Tribal Business Council formally Appoints 2002 Election Board"

The Tribal Business Council formally approved Resolution #02-134-MWJR, during the August 8, 2002 Regular Tribal Council Meeting; which states in part:
"WHEREAS, This Nation having accepted the Indian Reorganization Act of June 18, 1934 and the Authority under said Act;  and
WHEREAS, The Constitution of the Three Affiliated Tribes generally authorizes and empowers the Tribal Business Council to engage in activities on behalf of and in the interest of the welfare and benefit of the Tribes and of the enrolled members thereof; and
WHEREAS,  The Primary Election and the General Election are scheduled for September 17, 2002 and November 5, 2002, respectively and;
WHEREAS, The Secretary of the Business Councilman has duly published the Notice of Election in accordance with Part 11, Section 2 of the Tribal Election Ordinance, and;
WHEREAS, Part V., Section 1 (A) of the Tribal Election Ordinance requires the Tribal Business Council to appoint a Tribal Election Board constituted by five (5) qualified voters, none of whom is a member of the Tribal Business Council, an employee of the Three Affiliated Tribes, an employee of the Department of the Interior, a candidate for Tribal Office, or a close relative of a candidate for Tribal office as defined within said section, and;
WHEREAS, Part V., Section 1 (A) of the Tribal Election Ordinance requires that the Tribal Business Council designate one of the five appointees as Chairperson of the Tribal Election Board;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Tribal Business Council hereby appoints the following five qualified voters as member of the Tribal Election Board of the 2002 Primary and General Elections:
Carla Wilson, Thoedora Starr, Laurie Kraft, Evan Burr, Jr. and Mona Bear.
