Tribal Business Council of TAT
Special Meeting held on December 4, 2001--Action Continued

Elders Organization received additional $500,000 for the FY 2002 Budget Year
The Elders Organization of the Three Affiliated Tribes were allocated an additional $500,000, which is in addition to the $250,000, bringing the total amount allocated amount of $750,000 for the year. The original requested amount was $800,000, therefore the Tribal Business Council would revisit the issue during the December 26, 2001 scheduled meeting.
Tribal Business Council Contributes $2,000 for the NCAI Reception for the Newly Elected President of NCAI
The Tribal Business Council duly passed the donation and grant of $2,000 to the NCAI Reception to be held in recognition of the newly elected President of NCAI, Chairman Tex Hall, which is to be held at the Events Center of the Four Bears Casino & Lodge. Pursuant to the Tribal Resolution #01-298-MWJR, which states in part:
"WHEREAS,  This is the first time in history of the Three Affiliated Tribes and the state of North Dakota that a President for the National  Congress of American Indians has been elected from this tribe and from North Dakota; and
WHEREAS, It has traditionally been a practice of the Three Affiliated Tribes to honor warriors who bring honor to the people of the Three Affiliated Tribes and we now fight many of our battle through communication with words; and
WHEREAS, The Three Affiliated Tribes now, with the election of Chairman Tex G. Hall to the presidency of the National Congress of American Indians will have access to the White House and Congress and will be able to influence legislation that will impact positively the health and welfare of the people of the Mandan Hidatsa and Arikara Nation (Three Affiliated Tribes) and all tribal nations is the United States; and
WHEREAS, The Tribal Council of the Three Affiliated Tribes wishes to recognize and honor Chairman Tex G. Hall for his win as President of National Congress of American Indians, as he is the first Chairman from North Dakota to be elected to this high office; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Tribal Business Council of the Three Affiliated Tribes hereby authorizes the amount of $2,000.00 for a Reception to be held December 18, 2001 to honor Chairman Tex G. Hall for his win and to welcome home the President of the National Congress of American Indians, President Tex G. Hall."
M3 Energy Proposal to Extend Letter of Intent to Oil & Gas Exploration
The Tribal Business Council moved to extend the letter of intent to contract with M3 Energy for an additional 30 days. To be brought back to the Tribal Council at the next meeting.
