Three Affiliated Tribes Approves Access to all Tribal Lands for the Deer Gun Season 2001 on the Fort Berthold Reservation
The Tribal Business Council took formal action to assure public access to respective duly licensed  Deer Gun Hunters whom wish to pursue Deer on the Tribal Lands within the Fort Berthold Reservation for the 2001 Dear Gun Season.
This action was taken, due to the continued denial of access to Tribal Lands within the Tribal Lease Lands and Tribal Range Units of the Three Affiliated Tribes.
Therefore the Tribal Business stated for the record in part:
"The Legal Department of the Three Affiliated Tribes to prepare public notices indicating that access to hunting on range units is to be permitted pursuant to Code of Laws of the Three Affiliated Tribes, but also that if they (Lessee's of the Range Units) violate the Code of Laws of TAT and do not follow those provisions, this may affect their ability to maintain/retain or get a range unit and other farm pasture leases."…
The Tribal Council also cited Tribal Resolution #00-02-DSB which states in part:
Provisions for Allocation of Grazing Permits:
15) Access for the purposes of hunting on Tribal lands located within a range unit will be pursuant to the Game and Fish Department of the Three Affiliated Tribes and Chapter 18 of the Code of Laws of the Three Affiliated Tribes known as the Game and Fish Code, and in accordance with Resolution #97-157-DSB.  Locks on gates preventing access to Tribal lands for the purpose of hunting are prohibited.
