  New Town Main Street to be Restricted to Local Business Traffic in Areas Starting Monday, May 4 as Part of Main Street Work

Beginning on Monday, May 4, traffic will be restricted to local business traffic only on Main Street at various locations between ND Highway 1804 and Park Place in New Town to allow crews to locate utilities. This is part of the Main Street Reconstruction project which will include concrete overlay, widening, shoulder reconstruction, storm drain reconstruction, curb and gutter reconstruction, sewer reconstruction, and water main reconstruction, lighting and signals.

During this time:
   • Flaggers will be in place
   • Motorists may experience delays

Motorists should expect varying traffic restrictions in the project area throughout the construction season. Weekly public meetings will be held on this project at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesdays at the New Town City Hall, 103 Soo Place, New Town.

The NDDOT Williston District serves the transportation needs of the communities in northwestern North Dakota, including Williston, Alexander, Watford City, New Town, Stanley, and Berthold.
