Services Provided & Mission

C&LD’s Mentor-Apprentice program brings together students of the languages and those experts that wish to pass to a new generation. They will become the new language experts who can go out into the community and teach our languages to others. We will also create tribal language resources that give learners valuable instruction to help in their language journey.

SERVICES

The Three Affiliated Tribes LIHEAP is a federally funded program that assists low income Three Affiliated Tribes and Other Federal Recognized Tribes households with their home energy costs related to heating and cooling, that resides in an around a 12-mile radius of the exterior boundaries of the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation (FBIR). The Purpose of LIHEAP is to assist with energy needs, but not pay all energy costs related to heat and/or cool your home.

The head of household applicant must be a member of the Three Affiliated Tribes or other Federal Recognized Tribe and reside on or within a 12-mile radius of the FBIR to qualify for this program. If residing outside of the 12-mile radius of the FBIR, then the head of household must apply to their local state program.

A household’s income must be at or below 60 percent of North Dakota’s median income and within these limits.

Your Responsibilities:

You must inform LIHEAP if you, or any member of your household of the following:

  • Received Assistance from another LIHEAP Program during the current fiscal year.
  • Move to a new address.
  • Change your fuel supplier and/or utility provider.
  • Any Income Changes.
  • Ask for assistance with the application if you do not understand.

Our Responsibilities:

  • Make sure payments are made in timely manner, once received.
  • Assist clients with the best of our ability.

Applications are Available Online via the Internet at MHA Nation Website, the LIHEAP Office, White Shield Segment, Twin Buttes Segment, New Town/Little Shell Segment, Parshall/Lucky Mound Segment, Four Bears Segment and Mandaree Segment Offices, and the United Prairie, New Town Office All Located within the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation.

Mandatory Documentation To Be Considered For Funding:

  1. A Completed Signed LIHEAP Application.
  2. A Copy of TAT Enrollment for all TAT Members and Other Federal Recognized Tribal Family Members in the Household.
  3. Photo Identification. If household members are not members of Three Affiliated Tribes or other Federal Recognized Tribe and over the age of 18 years of age, a photo ID is required.
  4. Social Security Cards for all Household Members, SS Cards are requested to verify all household members’ eligibility for the LIHEAP Funding.
  5. Verification of Income for the Last 3 Months.
  6. Copy of the most current utility bills.
  7. Copy of Rental Lease or Deed to Home.
  8. Appeal Notice.
  9. Release of Information.
