The Mandan Hidatsa & Arikara Nation established the Business Loan Program for the purpose of assisting its membership with short-term loans. The business loan program is a revolving leading program, as borrowers repay their loans, the funds become available for more loans. Maximum funding: $100,000. with the interest rate at Prime + 1% thereafter reset annually by TBC. Fixed Assets -10 year max term, Equipment-7 year max term, Working Capital-5 year max term, other terms vary based on the type of loan. Collateral pledged for the loan must be secured with fixed assets or other reasonable collateral with equal value of the loan, with TAT first lien position. The applicant must show credit worthiness with the tribe.

The TAT Business Loan Program will only accept completed applications. After the completed application is submitted the process can take 4-12 weeks.

Any enrolled member who meets the established guidelines set forth in the TAT Business Loan policies and procedures.

The TAT business loan department has a fixed interest rate of 4.25%, the term of the loan at minimum is 1 year to a maximum of 10 years.

Per TAT Business Loan policies, all business loan must be secured by collateral. The TAT Business Loan Program will accept anything that can be titled and is no older than 10 years old.

The TAT Business Loan Program will only accept completed applications. After the completed application is submitted the process can take 4-12 weeks.

Three Affiliated Tribes purchases the house and enters into a payment agreement with that tribal member. The home can be locally on the reservation or on qualified Fee Land off the Reservation. The loan is available for members at a low 3% interest rate for a 30 year term. 

Criteria:  Tribal member must be 18 years or older, be in good standing (no financial delinquencies with the Three Affiliated Tribes, Complete a Homebuyers Education Course (Offered by the Tribal Housing or Approved Agency) and with adequate income to support an annual household budget and monthly payments, along with anticipated maintenance of the home.

Small loans services the TAT employees, members and non-enrolled eligible employees and eligible MHA members that live off and on the reservation.

Must be an enrolled member of the Three Affiliated Tribes. Must have employment or other means of repay loan obligation.
Non-enrolled members must be employed with any tribal entity to be eligible for wage deduction and have enrolled TAT tribal member co-sign for loan.

The Three Affiliated Tribes, Small Loan Program is designed to assist Tribal members with financial assistance with each individual’s need in an emergency situation.
To try and assist Tribal members to overcome small financial barrier’s to help out in time of need.
