Mission
The Three Affiliated Tribes Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara will provide leadership in the development of individual and community responsibility and accountability to ensure that all Tribal members the unborn to adult will obtain the intellectual, cultural, social, spiritual and physical, development necessary to be a self-sufficient productive and contributing member of the nation.

In order to be eligible for this Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must be an enrolled member of the Three Affiliated Tribes.
- Applicants must demonstrate financial need after all other resources of aid are packaged as determined by the institute’s financial aid officer.
The complete application:
- A completed Higher Education Program application.
- A certificate of Degree of Indian Blood. This must be obtained from the Enrollment Office located at Bureau of Indian Affairs in New Town. (701) 627- 4238
- Letter of Acceptance/ Admission from the institution you plan to attend.
- High School transcript or GED scores.
- Needs Analysis Form, which is attached to the Higher Education Program Application. Fill out only the top portion and submit it to the financial aid office at the college you will be attending.
(They will return it to our program office for determination of eligibility for program assistance.)

What Is The Higher Education Scholarship Program?
The Higher Education Scholarship /Grant Program is federally funded and is designed to assist those students attending an accredited college or university heading toward a two year or four-year degree field of study. The funding is considered a supplemental funding to assist students toward their college expenses.
Who Is Eligible For Funding?
In order for students to be eligible for funding through the Higher Education Program, they must apply by filling out a Tribal Higher Education Grant application and must meet all eligibility requirements by having a complete file by the respective deadline dates.

What Is The Allowable Fields Of Study?
The Higher Education Grant Program only funds students that are enrolled in a field of study that leads to a 2-year or 4-year degree. The Higher Education Grant Program does not fund students wishing to pursue their education in certificate training, vocational (A.A.S is vocational), and/ or technical colleges.
